Horseback Riding

In addition to our other education and recreation programs, Jump for Joy Farm boosts a comprehensive equestrian program and horseback riding facility only 30 minutes from downtown Portland, and 10 minutes from Happy Valley and Damascus! We offer full-care horse boarding, an A-Z lesson program for beginners to advanced riders on our horse or yours, and camps.

Our goal is to create a fun, safe, and friendly community where horse enthusiasts can build their skills and enjoy spending their time.

Riding Lessons and Horse Camps

Open to all riders, Jump for Joy Farm focuses on English riding and offers instruction in dressage, cross country and stadium jumping as well as connected riding and natural horsemanship. Foundational instruction is steeped in classical dressage and connected riding.

Jump for Joy Farm offers private and small group lessons as well as horse camps to all levels of riders. We specialize in children, youth and adult returning riders. Equestrians that seek a comprehensive equine education and intensive learning experience can enroll in Jump for Joy Farm’s progressive group lessons or seasonal Horse Camps.

We also accept a few working students and offer horses on lease agreements.

Boarding and Training Services

Jump for Joy Farm is a full-care boarding facility providing excellent care of horses and their people, ensuring both are healthy and happy.

Jump for Joy Farm offers partial or full horse training services to suit a range of training needs from breaking young horses, to tune up and rehabs, solving behavioral problems and preparing for shows.

Horse Leasing

Students taking lessons at Jump for Joy Farm are eligible to lease a Jump for Joy Farm horse.

Leasing includes horse time 2 to 5 times per week with one weekly lesson required.

Jump for Joy Farm provides regular care and maintenance of the horse, while students can enjoy the horse during pre-scheduled times.

Pony Club Riding Center

Jump for Joy Farm has been accepted by the United States Pony Club (USPC) as an official Pony Club Riding Center. Pony Club is a comprehensive national riding and horsemanship program that has been providing high quality educational programs to young riders and their families since 1954.

The mission of Pony Club is "to provide a program for youth that teaches riding, mounted sports, and the care of horses and ponies, thereby developing responsibility, moral judgment, leadership and self-confidence.”
